TS2 SPACE has completed the tender documentation for JCC-I/A and a satellite network project for the Marines new bases in Afghanistan. The government contract concerns establishing and maintaining full communication in new locations for two years for all soldiers stationed there. The USA are going to transfer 4.5 thousand Marines from Iraq to Afghanistan as early as at the beginning of 2009.

Participants of the GOBI 2008 expedition supported by TS2 SPACE are already in Ulan Batar. They have repeated the Polish pioneer achievement in its 30th anniversary and covered a distance of over 1600 km through the Gobi Desert and Mongolia with their land yachts. The present route started in Bugat and led along the Gobi Altai Mountains through Bayanhogor and Mandalgobi to Ulan Bator.

Inmarsat plc confirms the selection of Thales Alenia Space and International Launch Services to support an application under the European S-band Application Process (ESAP) for an award of S-band spectrum. The common project called EuropaSat will be designed to provide mobile broadcast and two-way telecommunications services in the S-Band throughout Europe.

Inmarsat has confirmed the successful launch and acquisition of the third Inmarsat-4 satellite. The satellite was launched on a Proton Breeze M rocket from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on 18th August. Inmarsat's tracking station in Fucino, Italy was able to track the satellite while it was still coupled to the Breeze M launch vehicle. Launch provider ILS confirmed successful spacecraft separation on 19th August.

On 26 August 2008 a famous Polish alpinist team of Eliza Kubarska and David Kaszlikowski sets off in Karakoram. Often called "Nameless Tower", Trango is one of the most gorgeous and highest rock spires in the world. Its vertical wall is 1200 m high.
