EchoStar and The Things Industries Partner to Expand IoT Network Reach

EchoStar and The Things Industries Partner to Expand IoT Network Reach

EchoStar subsidiary, EchoStar Mobile, has teamed up with The Things Industries to bring satellite connectivity to the European market. The collaboration aims to deploy hybrid satellite and LoRa (Long Range) IoT solutions to businesses across Europe, expanding the reach of The Things Stack LoRaWAN network server and its generic node concept edition.

The Things Stack is a LoRaWAN Network Server designed for connectivity, management, and monitoring of devices, gateways, and end-user applications. It ensures security, scalability, and reliability of data routing throughout the network.

With this partnership, customers can now connect their IoT devices for real-time, two-way communications over satellite or terrestrial networks using a dual-transport, generic node. This breakthrough allows cost-effective IoT deployments with seamless coverage, ensuring devices remain connected anytime, anywhere, even in remote areas.

Telemaco Melia, Vice President and General Manager of EchoStar Mobile, said, “With plug-and-play simplicity, this collaboration enables terrestrial and satellite transports to be integrated easily into the same node or module for IoT applications.”

To encourage adoption, The Things Industries is offering a limited-time free trial for each device connected to its network. This complements EchoStar Mobile’s European satellite-based LoRa IoT service launched last year.

As businesses continue to leverage IoT technologies for various applications, this partnership between EchoStar and The Things Industries opens up new possibilities for connectivity and extends the reach of IoT networks across Europe.
