The Eklund | Gomes Team Launches Maya: An AI-Powered Real Estate Expert

The Eklund | Gomes Team, known for their success in the residential real estate market, has unveiled Maya, an AI-powered real estate expert. Maya is designed to provide tailored listing information directly from property photos, continuously learn through user interaction, and act as a guide in all aspects of real estate.
Built on ChatGPT, Maya can easily search and highlight listings, describe different types of properties, answer questions about real estate, and provide information on popular celebrity vacation home markets. However, Maya did struggle to answer a specific question regarding the biggest celebrity sale of 2023.
To improve Maya’s capabilities, users can provide feedback through a thumbs-up or thumbs-down rating system. This helps strengthen the accuracy and reliability of Maya’s responses. According to Fredrik Eklund, Maya is described as an AI avatar that never sleeps, is always helpful and friendly, and continuously learns from every interaction.
Although Maya is not the first AI-powered real estate expert on the market, it stands out with its anthropomorphic design. The team plans to animate Maya in version 2.0, giving her a voice and visible movements.
Maya will reside on the new Eklund | Gomes website, accessible to registered users. The avatar has been trained on thousands of real estate articles and will collect real-time data during user interactions to provide valuable insights into customer behavior and preferences.
The team sees Maya as a lead generator for their firm, as she can remember past conversations, send personalized messages, and connect users with the right agent. Maya is also part of the team’s expansion into jet and yacht sales, meeting the demands of high-end clientele.
The creation of Maya was a collaboration between the Eklund | Gomes Team, their CEO Julia Spillman-Gover, and Purlin, a company specializing in personalized home-buying using AI and images. Purlin is backed by New Valley Ventures, the prop-tech investment arm of Douglas Elliman brokerage.
With the launch of Maya, the Eklund | Gomes Team aims to adapt to the changing real estate industry and provide a more personal and enjoyable experience for buyers and sellers. As John Gomes states, they want to stay ahead of the curve and embrace the rapid changes in the industry.
